If you have been looking for a solid, watertight enclosure that looks great and is priced right, this is the Atlantic Towers® hardtop configuration many smaller walkaround-style boat owners choose first.
A full 4-rod rocket launcher is standard, along with mounts for halogen spreader cockpit floodlights, multiple antennas, and radar. Each tower is custom fabricated to match the existing lines of the boat's windshield for stronger design continuity.
Atlantic Towers® hardtops are shipped complete with the components and guidance needed for bolt-on installation, with no welding required and no need to leave your boat at a fabrication shop for days or weeks.
The Custom Fishing Hardtop is specifically designed for retrofitting to walkaround and express-style boats. Its cantilevered design normally requires no forward supports, keeping sightlines cleaner from the helm and reducing interference with windshields or enclosures.
Most applications weigh less than 100 pounds overall, yet still support substantial gear loads and the demands of offshore use. The perimeter frame uses ATL-6 extrusion, letting the hand laid fiberglass top surface fit securely into the all-welded structure with no exposed fasteners.
Using Atlantic Towers®' proprietary database, each Custom Fishing Hardtop is designed and fabricated to order for the individual boat. The leading edge is shaped to conform to the windshield for a more factory-installed appearance and easier fit of a wrinkle-free enclosure.

Full Custom Hardtop for Flybridge and Express Style Boats
Atlantic Towers® ATL 6 self trimming aluminum extrusion combined with quality hand laid fiberglass allows the construction of Custom Hardtops that combine strength, durability, and attractive factory-like design in a structure that is light in weight and available at reasonable cost. Custom Hardtop prices start in the high $3000s.
Each Atlantic Towers® Custom Hardtop frame is made from high strength corrosion resistant aluminum alloys. The aluminum is brushed or spiral finished with a fine 320 abrasive, then chemically cleaned by bright dip and clear anodized for saltwater protection.
The perimeter hardtop frame is shaped using Atlantic Towers®' proprietary ATL-6 aluminum extrusion, which provides a self-trimming recess for the hand laid fiberglass top surface with no exposed fasteners.
Using Atlantic Towers®' proprietary database, and when needed measurements, drawings, and photographs of your boat or a sister ship, each Custom Hardtop is designed and fabricated strictly to order for the individual boat.
The leading edge of the Custom Hardtop is shaped to conform to the windshield on your boat for a factory-installed look and easier fit of a wrinkle-free enclosure. ATL 4 proprietary extrusions provide for concealed wiring and hidden accessory mounting bolts.
Structural Leg Engineering
Arch Style Legs
Supporting leg structure defines both the style and the structural support of a hardtop installation. Atlantic Towers® ATL 6 construction keeps hardtop weight to a minimum, which allows for more esthetically pleasing support structure.
Arch style legs are stylish, strong, and make for easy installation. They add a contemporary look to older boats and typically do not interfere with bridge access, existing handrails, guard rails, or accessories.
On flybridge boats, arch style legs can eliminate the need to remove or cut headliners to install backing plates. They also provide maximum flexibility in positioning of the hardtop when installed. The supporting pipe is typically 1 1/2" schedule 40 marine grade aluminum pipe, measuring 1.90" outside diameter with a heavy wall thickness.
Hardtops designed with arch style legs typically have four primary legs and mounting points, and may add two secondary sway braces for a total of six attachment points.
Traditional Style Legs
Traditional style legs typically combine a three-element rear supporting leg with a pair of forward primary supporting legs and two, four, or more secondary braces.
Atlantic Towers® Custom Hardtops with traditional style legs have at least six attachment points and frequently eight or more. This style remains popular with owners of earlier sport fishermen, convertibles, and other traditionally styled boats that historically used permanent tops or half towers.
Other Configurations
Many other configurations are possible as well, including attaching Atlantic Towers® Custom Hardtops to existing arches, supporting cockpit sunshades, aft deck hardtops on motor yachts, and aft cabin boats.

For considerable freight savings, supporting legs and structure may also be designed to demount using Atlantic Towers® custom hardware fittings, allowing larger tops to ship flat when appropriate.
